Deckmate Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to Deckmate ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Deckmate mobile application ("App") operated by DECKMATE LIMITED, a company registered in the United Kingdom.

By downloading, installing, or using our App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not use our App.

2. Description of Service

Deckmate is a trading card game (TCG) card collection management application that allows users to:

Scan and identify individual trading cards
Perform bulk scanning to identify multiple cards simultaneously
Manage and organise their card collections
Access additional features through subscription tiers

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use Deckmate, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password, or by using OAuth authentication through Google or Apple.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

3.3 Account Information

You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and to update this information as necessary.

4. Subscription Services

4.1 Service Tiers

Deckmate offers a freemium model with the following tiers:

Free: Basic functionality with limited features.
Plus: Enhanced features for casual users, including unlimited single card scans and CSV data exporting.
Pro: Full feature access for advanced users, including unlimited bulk scans and live eBay deals.

4.2 Payment Processing

Subscription payments are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. All billing enquiries should be directed to the respective platform.

4.3 Subscription Terms

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account.
Refunds are subject to Apple's and Google's respective refund policies.
Subscription benefits are non-transferable.

5. User Content and Card Scanning

5.1 Uploaded Content

When you scan cards using our App, images are uploaded to our servers for processing and identification. These scanned images are stored in your account for your personal use and recent scan history. We may delete scanned images from your account after a certain period of time.

5.2 Content Ownership

You retain ownership of any original content you upload. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, display, and use this content to improve our services, including for machine learning and training our card identification algorithms.

5.3 Content Guidelines

You agree not to upload content that:

Violates any applicable laws or regulations.
Infringes upon the rights of third parties.
Contains malicious code or harmful content.
Is unrelated to trading card games.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Rights

The Deckmate App, including its design, functionality, and underlying technology, is owned by DECKMATE LIMITED and is protected by intellectual property laws.

6.2 Trading Card Recognition

Our card identification service relies on publicly available trading card information and databases. We do not claim ownership over the trading cards themselves or their associated intellectual property.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

7.1 Data Collection

We collect minimal personal information as outlined in our Privacy Policy, including:

Email address (required)
Name (if provided through OAuth)
Card scan images for processing and recent history

7.2 Third-Party Services

We use third-party services including:

Sentry: For error tracking and debugging (may record anonymised sessions).
RevenueCat: For subscription management.
OAuth providers: Google and Apple for authentication.

7.3 Data Processing

Your personal data is processed in accordance with UK data protection laws and our Privacy Policy.

8. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the App.
Use automated systems to access the App without permission.
Share your account credentials with others.
Upload content that violates these Terms.
Interfere with the App's functionality or other users' experience.

9. Push Notifications

The App may send push notifications to provide updates and information about your account and collections. You can disable these notifications through your device settings at any time.

10. Internet Connection

Deckmate requires an active internet connection to function properly. We are not responsible for any issues arising from poor connectivity or network interruptions.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

Uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Accuracy of card identification results.
Compatibility with all devices.
Availability of the service at all times.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DECKMATE LIMITED shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

13. Termination

13.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting the App and contacting us to request account deletion via email at hello@deckmate.app.

13.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

13.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. If you request account deletion, we will delete all associated account data.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

17. Severability

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and DECKMATE LIMITED regarding the use of the App.
